By joshua Kogi Police Arraign Six FUL Students Over Viral Bullying Video of Colleague
Lokoja, Kogi State – The Kogi State Police Command has arraigned six students of the Federal University Lokoja, FUL, before a court over the assault and cyberbullying of a fellow student, Oladosu Sunday, in a case that went viral last month.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, on Sunday, the suspects were arrested following a report lodged at ‘B’ Division, Lokoja, on 30th March 2026. The case involved criminal conspiracy, use of criminal force, defamation, assault, and cyberstalking.
The suspects were identified as Inajo Henry, Nzekwe Victor, Lucky Victor, Lucky Gambo, Paul David, and a 17-year-old minor, all male students of FUL. The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for investigation.
Preliminary findings revealed that the suspects falsely accused Oladosu Sunday of being homosexual without credible evidence. They conspired to lure him to an apartment beside Living Faith Church area, Felele, Lokoja, on 29th March 2026 at about 9:00 p.m.
The victim was confined in a room, forcibly stripped naked, and assaulted with belts and charging cords while the act was recorded. The video was later circulated online and went viral within the university community. Police said the suspects admitted during interrogation that the act was premeditated and based solely on unverified assumptions.
The Command confirmed that investigation has been concluded and the suspects arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction. It warned against jungle justice, cyberbullying, and all forms of criminality, urging youths and students to seek lawful means of redress.
Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, reassured Kogi residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives, property, and the fundamental rights of all citizens.
