By joshua Northern Progressive Youth Pass Vote of Confidence on Tantita Security, Urge FG to Sustain Contract
LOKOJA, April 10, 2026 — The Northern Progressive Youth on Wednesday passed a vote of confidence on Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its “outstanding performance” in the surveillance and protection of Nigeria’s oil pipelines.
Addressing a press conference at Hotel Bluebell, Lokoja, the group said the briefing was convened to formally commend Tantita for its role in curbing crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
In his remarks, National Leader of the group, Michael Achor Joshua, said: “This briefing is convened to formally commend and pass a vote of confidence on Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its outstanding performance in the surveillance and protection of Nigeria’s oil pipelines.”
The group said after a “careful and objective assessment of recent developments in the oil and gas sector,” wished to commend Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its “professionalism, resilience and measurable impact in curbing crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.”
It listed four key areas of impact:
1. The significant reduction in pipeline vandalism;
2. Increased crude oil production;
3. Improved national revenue generation; and
4. Enhanced security and safety stability in host communities.
“We emphasize that the protection of Nigeria’s oil pipelines is a matter of national importance, transcending ethnic, regional, or political considerations,” the group stated.
“Consequently, we hereby pass a strong vote of confidence on Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its continued role in safeguarding one of Nigeria’s most critical national assets,” Joshua declared.
The Northern Progressive Youth called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to:
1. Sustain and strengthen the engagement of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited;
2. Provide necessary support to enhance operational capacity; and
3. Resist any pressure that may undermine the progress achieved so far.
The group urged host communities to “continue cooperating with surveillance teams,” security agencies to “maintain synergy with Tantita,” and Nigerians to “support all efforts aimed at protecting national assets.”
“Nigeria’s oil pipelines remain a core national asset critical to our economic survival and growth. Any effort that has demonstrably improved their security deserves our collective support,” Joshua said.
“We stand firmly in support of progress, accountability, and national development.”
