The people of Egbe are making the rest of us in Okunland, nay Kogi West envious of the noteworthy interventions of their beloved son, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi in the development of the community.
I attended the *Egbe Mekun Day Celebrations* last October as a Special Guest and was quite impressed by the imprimatur of Senator Karimi on his home community.
The inquisitive journalist that I am, I insisted on personally touring every notable project which has the signature of Senator Karimi and I could only commend the good fortune of his people.
From the fully equipped CBT testing centre in Titcombe College, to the purpose-built Forward Operating Base, (FOB) to support security operations, and then the ultra-modern palace of the *Elegbe of Egbe,* you can see the perspiration of a man committed to the upliftment of his home community.
This is not forgetting the teeming numbers of youths who have profited from the scholarship scheme he initiated two academic sessions ago and the silent numbers for whom he has facilitated sustainable and pensionable employments and livelihoods.
What Senator Sunday Steve Karimi needs from us all, beginning from Egbe, is total and genuine support to enable him to continue to deliver for his people and the entire Kogi West Senatorial Zone.
This is not the time for needless distracting bickering and snide remarks from any quarters. This is the time for Egbe and the rest of us to stand solidly and stolidly behind our own.
The parable of the broom which is most effective and impactful when individual broomsticks are bound together, readily comes to mind.
Let’s also be very, very circumspect about hawks encircling the political space in promiscuous liaison with vultures from elsewhere, who are intent on impeding the ascendancy of of our own. God will deny them the opportunity. But let’s remember that the lizard only finds haven where there are lacerations in the wall.
We must conscientiously cleanup our homestead and rally behind our own.
