COUNCIL OF ULAMA’U OF NIGERIA IN CONJUNCTION WITH CRESCENT MISSION VISITS KOTON-KARFE CORRECTIONAL SERVICE
The Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria in collaboration with Crescent Mission paid a humanitarian and spiritual visitation to the Nigerian Correctional Service facility at Koton-Karfe.
During the visit, counseling sessions were offered to the inmates. Words of hope and encouragement were shared, reminding them that there is always light after hardship. The example of Prophet Yusuf (AS), who was tried severely but emerged victorious, was cited to inspire patience, contentment, and steadfastness in prayers.
🎙️ Hon. Isah T. Umar spoke on behalf of Crescent Mission, while Dr. Ali Baba addressed the inmates on behalf of the Council of Ulama’u, emphasizing repentance, reform, and trust in Allah’s mercy.
As part of their humanitarian gesture, the organizations secured the release of two inmates by paying their fines, giving them a renewed opportunity to reunite with their families and reintegrate into society.
The inmates’ Imam expressed deep appreciation to both organizations for their concern and compassion. He appealed to them to use their good offices to seek amnesty for deserving inmates through the State Government. He also requested support for the construction of a proper Masjid within the facility, noting that the inmates are currently using a temporary hall for worship.
In response, the Council assured them of their commitment to explore possible support toward the establishment of a befitting Masjid and to engage relevant authorities regarding their appeals.
The session concluded with a special Du’a offered by Sheikh Aderemi Idris Aleru of the Council of Ulama’u, praying for the inmates, the management of the correctional facility, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
The visitation included members of both the Council of Ulama’u and Crescent Mission of Nigeria, reaffirming their shared commitment to spiritual guidance, humanitarian service, and community development.
