Alhaji Usman Ododo’s Emergence as Governor: A Timely Blessing for Kogi State
The emergence of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, as the Governor of Kogi State at this critical point in our history cannot be overemphasized. His leadership has continued to reflect the ideals of a true democrat—inclusive, people-oriented, and driven by a clear commitment to stability and development.
Since assuming office, Governor Ododo has placed security at the heart of governance. Through strengthened collaboration with security agencies, community engagement, and proactive interventions, the administration has recorded improved safety across major parts of the state, restoring confidence among residents, farmers, traders, and investors.
In the area of education, the Ododo-led government has demonstrated resolve by prioritizing the welfare of teachers, improving learning environments, and sustaining policies aimed at expanding access to quality education. These efforts reaffirm the belief that education remains the foundation for long-term development in Kogi State.
The administration has also shown commitment to agriculture and rural development, including pragmatic approaches to addressing farmer–herder relations and supporting agricultural productivity, thereby boosting food security and rural livelihoods.
Across infrastructure, healthcare delivery, youth engagement, and civil service welfare, Governor Ododo has maintained continuity while introducing a calm, consultative leadership style that emphasizes unity over division. His governance approach reflects an understanding that progress is best achieved when all stakeholders are carried along, regardless of political affiliation.
As a PDP stakeholder, I commend Governor Ododo for demonstrating maturity, openness, and dedication to democratic values. His performance so far shows promise and provides reassurance that Kogi State is on a steady path toward peace, growth, and inclusive development.
We encourage sustained support, constructive engagement, and collective responsibility as the administration continues to consolidate on these gains for the benefit of all Kogites.
