THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN SULE SALIHU ENEHE, Ph.D., NEW YEAR 2026 GREETINGS TO STAFF OF KGIRS

January 01, 2026.
I, Sule Salihu Enehe, the Executive Chairman of Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), will like to extend my warmest New Year 2026 greetings to the Management and Staff of the Service.
I am deeply grateful for the outstanding performance of each and every Staff member in the past year 2025. Your collective efforts, teamwork, and dedication to sustaining the State through our internally generated revenue have been truly commendable.
I also use this medium to remember our deceased colleagues whose contributions have impacted on our continued success story. May their souls continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
As we embark on this New Year, I am confident that our unmatched work enthusiasm will enable us to exceed our revenue target for the year 2026, especially in the wake of the New Tax Act 2025. The State Government has given the Service a budget of 43.9 Billion Naira to drive in Year 2026, amid the new tax laws that will cause disruptions on both the tax and non-tax revenues.
The implication of this is that there will be a disruption in the entire system of tax administration in the State, which has become a task for all of us to embrace in mastering the new era without losing our structure of operation as employees of the Revenue Service.
The task ahead is staggering but I believe in the mettle of our collective workforce to exploit the disruptions to our advantage and to the progressive advantage of our dear State.
I appreciate your resilience and perseverance through the economic challenges of the year 2025.
I firmly believe that KGIRS is poised for even greater success, leveraging on the exceptional skillset of our team. On its part, Management has concluded arrangements for continuous Staff training and retraining, using both physical and virtual platforms.
Additionally, Staff welfare will continue to be our top priority, and I enjoin all of you to rededicate yourselves to the core values of the Service, which will enable us to perform beyond expectation.
Please, accept my heartfelt wishes for a groundbreaking year 2026 and do not forget to be more conscious of your health.
*Sule Salihu Enehe, Ph.D.*
Executive Chairman, KGIRS.
