2026 NEW YEAR MESSAGE: ENGR. BASHIRU GEGU URGES KOGITES TO BE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT A BETTER YEAR
The Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, has called on Nigerians, particularly the people of Kogi Local Government Area, to remain hopeful and live in peace and harmony.
In his New Year message, Engr. Gegu expressed confidence that the present administration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo will continue to tackle the challenges facing the state, and urged Kogites to anticipate greater prosperity in 2026.
He stated, “I wish every Kogite, particularly the people of Kogi LGA, a Happy and Prosperous New Year. We are thankful to God for the grace to see the New Year, and we welcome 2026 with hope and faith.”
Engr. Gegu noted that 2025 was a year of great strides for Kogi State, and expressed gratitude to the people of the state, particularly citizens of Kogi LGA, for their support for Governor Ododo and the APC-led administration in 2025.
He assured the people of Kogi LGA that the administration will deliver more good governance and dividends of democracy that will impact their well-being in 2026. Engr. Gegu promised to continue providing leadership that will bring about greater opportunities and a more prosperous life for the people of Kogi LGA.
“I will work for Kogi LGA better in this new year, attracting developments across the identified areas of needs of our people,” the Commissioner added.
