New Year: Kogi Finance Commissioner, Asiwaju Asiru Idris Projects Prosperity for Kogi State in 2026
The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, has called on Nigerians of goodwill to join forces with the present administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo in building a prosperous nation and state.
In his New Year message, the Commissioner praised the accomplishments of the Ododo administration in all sectors of the state and expressed confidence that with purposeful leadership, unity of purpose, religious tolerance, and development, Kogi State will become a model for others to emulate.
Asiwaju Asiru emphasized that the 2026 State Budget has set the tone for accelerated socioeconomic growth and development in the state.
He urged citizens to keep hope alive and join hands with the Ododo administration to address challenges such as insecurity, poverty, and unemployment, which have been on the decrease in recent times.
The Commissioner expressed optimism that the dream of the founding fathers of Kogi State would be achieved under the purposeful leadership of Governor Ododo and restated the resolve of the administration to maintain a strong synergy with the Tinubu administration in advancing the state’s interests.
Asiwaju Asiru also reflected on the achievements of 2025, despite challenges, and wished everyone a prosperous 2026, stating that “the Kogi of our dreams must be achieved. We must keep hope alive and collectively ensure a conducive atmosphere for good governance to thrive.”
He enjoined Kogites to remain focused on their desires for a greater Kogi State, stressing that their unflinching support is necessary for the state government to succeed in its aspirations for the future of the state.
