Temporary Ban on Crossover Vigils in Isolated Places Outside the Metropolis & Prohibition of Tyre‑Burning on New Year’s Eve
The Lokoja Local Government Administration reminds the public that the *temporary ban* on night‑time activities in isolated religious sites (e.g., mountains and other out‑of‑town locations) *remains in force*. This follows credible intelligence that such venues could be targeted by criminal elements during the Yuletide period.
Additionally, the Council has observed the *dangerous practice of burning tyres* on roads, especially during New Year celebrations. This activity poses *serious risks to public health, safety, and the environment*, and can cause damage to public property.

All persons within the Local Government Area must *comply* with these bans. Enforcement measures are being put in place to *arrest and prosecute* anyone who defies the prohibitions.
