Kogi West Senator Hails Appointment of Prof. Ibileye as FUL Lokoja VC, Pledges Support
Senator Sunday Karimi, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has congratulated Prof. Gbenga Ibileye on his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, describing it as “well-deserved”.
Speaking when he received Prof. Ibileye at his office, Sen. Karimi praised his “outstanding performance” and expressed confidence that he will take the university to greater heights.
“I have no doubt that you will build on the achievements of your predecessor and make FUL one of the top universities in the country,” he said.
Prof. Ibileye, who will assume office in February 2026, thanked Sen. Karimi for his support and vowed to justify the confidence reposed in him. He also praised the outgoing VC, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, for his efforts in making FUL a top-rated university.
Sen. Karimi assured Prof. Ibileye of his continued support, urging him to focus on making the university a centre of academic excellence.
