God Mercies Bible Club vs United Football Workers Honor Dr. Bashir Tenuche with Novelty, Goalkeeper Rose Fasona Says “What a Man Can Do”

The God Mercies Bible Club football team faced off against United Football Workers Village Club in a novelty match to honor Dr. Bashir Tenuche, Director‑General of the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), for his support to vulnerable children across Kogi State.

Winning captain Maliba Saliu praised Dr. Tenuche, saying, “We may not have money to give, but this match is our way of saying thank you—he’s a solid support for the children.”

Goalkeeper Miss Rose Fasona added that, “What a man can do, a woman can do better. Gender isn’t a barrier on the field. Women should pride themselves on matching men without bias.” She prayed for Dr. Tenuche’s long life and continued success.

The losing side remarked that Rose displayed “a man’s strength”—even surpassing their male goalkeeper—and hinted that women could soon lead the nation.

The matron of the match, Pastor Roseline Alabi, Executive Director, Dual Care Initiative, expressed joy that the children—though not orphans themselves—stood in the gap for the vulnerable, choosing to honor Dr. Tenuche in this heartfelt way.
