Caroline’s Legacy of Learning (CALL) Foundation Launches Maiden Quiz, Honors Late Mrs. Caroline Adewole
The maiden quiz competition organized by Caroline’s Legacy of Learning (CALL) Foundation brought together students from public secondary schools across Kogi State on Tuesday, marking the official launch of the education-focused initiative established in honor of the late Mrs. Caroline Mosunmola Adewole.
Held at the Adankolo campus of Federal University Lokoja, the event featured participants from Bishop Delisle College, Crowther Memorial College, Government Science Secondary School, GYB Model Science Secondary School, UBE Kabawa, Al‑Ansar Secondary School, and others. Officials from the Kogi State Ministry of Education, the National Coordinator of the Association for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Chief Onuche Isah, and other dignitaries were present.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Remilekun Adewole, daughter of the late Mrs. Adewole, described the CALL Project as a continuation of her mother’s lifelong commitment to kindness, generosity, and education. She said the project is “a call to grow, learn, and lead,” aiming to remove barriers that keep vulnerable children from quality basic education.
“This is not just a contest. It is a celebration of potential, confidence, and academic curiosity. Through this project, we hope to support children who dream of a better future and honor the values our mother lived by.”
In a goodwill message, Mr. Onuche Isah (Coordinator, Association for Orphans and Vulnerable Children) praised CALL’s commitment to education and child empowerment, noting Mrs. Adewole’s lasting legacy of service.
Also a representative of the Kogi State Ministry of Education thanked the Foundation for “giving back to society,” highlighting Mrs. Adewole’s civil‑service roots in the ministry.
Mr. Abayomi Gbenga (CEO, Paragon Foundation, and son of Mrs. Adewole) thanked schools and guests, reaffirming the Foundation’s focus on education, sports, and male‑child empowerment, with plans to expand nationwide after the youth empowerment pillar.
The competition results saw UBE Kabawa emerge as the overall winners with 6 point while Al‑Ansar Secondary School, emerge 2nd place with 4 point. Government Science Secondary School finished 3rd place with 2 point.
Scholarships and Awards that covers
full three‑year scholarships (school fees, materials, PTA dues) was given to the top three schools.
Eight CALL Scholars received two‑year full scholarships covering textbooks, exercise books, uniforms, and PTA fees.
The event closed with a pledge to sustain Mrs. Adewole’s legacy and expand educational opportunities across Kogi State.
