
Kogi East Women Forum Announces New Executive Committee

In a bid to strengthen grassroots engagement and enhance women’s political participation, the Kogi East Women Forum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a formidable team of new executives under the leadership of its Coordinator, Hajia Mariam Akpidi Yakubu.
Hajia Yakubu, a seasoned mobilizer and advocate for women’s empowerment, is expected to steer the forum’s activities across the eastern senatorial district of Kogi State, working closely with the newly constituted executive team to advance the party’s vision.
Leading the administrative front is Haruna Amina, who assumes the role of Secretary. Mariam Talatu has been appointed Auditor, while Hauwa Ademu takes charge as Financial Secretary, overseeing the organization’s finances.
The Organizing Secretary position has been handed to Mark Rachel Inikpi, who will work to mobilize women and coordinate party activities in the region. Additionally, Fatima Alih will serve a dual role as Omala Woman Leader and Treasurer, reflecting her depth of experience and trust within the group.
The forum’s commitment to grassroots representation is further evident in the appointment of Isah Awakulu Emah as Idah Woman Leader, Ojoma Abubakar as Dekina Women Leader, and Safiya Shetu, who doubles as Ajaokuta Woman Leader and the second Public Relations Officer (PRO 2). Also on the communication team are Mariam Abubakar, designated PRO 1, and Rabi Sule, who serves as PRO 3.
In a show of inclusion, Fatima Haliru has been named as Assistant Woman Leader, signaling the forum’s intent to mentor and groom future leaders.
With this robust and diverse executive team, working under the guidance of Hajia Mariam Akpidi Yakubu, the ADC Women Forum is positioning itself as a formidable voice for women in Kogi East, driving advocacy, empowerment, and participation ahead of forthcoming political engagements.
