KOGI FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR, ACHUBA CONGRATULATES MAJOR GEN. SHAIBU ON APPOINTMENT AS COAS
The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba has congratulated Major General Waidi Shaibu on his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Achuba, in a statement he personally signed, described the appointment of the 25th Chief of Army Staff as well-deserved, considering his track records in the Nigerian Army.
He said Major General Shaibu will no doubt, bring his wealth of experience to tackle the worrying security situation in the country.
The former Deputy Governor expressed hope that the Kogi born General would change the narrative on the security situation in the country, while urging other service chiefs to work in harmony with him to achieve the goal.
Achuba further congratulated Kogi state and Nigeria as a whole on the appointment of a man of integrity, while thanking President Bola Tinubu for the choice of Major General Waidi Shaibu to handle such sensitive position in the country.
Major General Shaibu’s appointment, he said, is a testament to the fact that the federal government is prepared to build a comba-ready, disciplined and people-focused army capable of decisively confronting emerging security challenges and upholding Nigeria’s pride and honour in peace and war.
He prayed God to grant the new Army Chief the wisdom and understanding to solve the security problems in the country.
