Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa Makes Entry into Kogi East — Establishes Study Centre in Alloma, Ofu LGA
The Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa, has expanded its reach to Kogi East with the establishment of a new study centre in Alloma, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Provost, Dr. M.K. Ibrahim, expressed appreciation to the Alloma community for their support and commitment toward the success of the initiative. He explained that the establishment of the study centre aligns with the vision of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo to make education accessible to all citizens across the state.
The Provost who was represented by the College Librarian, Mr Tunde Seidu noted that while a sister College of Education exists in Ankpa, the Mopa-based institution focuses on technical and vocational education designed to equip youths with practical skills for self-reliance and productivity. He described the initiative as a strategic effort to empower young people and contribute to the socio-economic development of Kogi State.
He further called on individuals, community leaders, and corporate organizations to support the College in ensuring the success and sustainability of the new centre.
The Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area, Hon. Musa Muhammed Lawal, commended the Provost and management of the College for locating the centre in his local government and pledged the support of the Ofu Local Government Council for its success.
Also speaking, the Ejeh of Ofu and Chairman, Ofu Local Government Traditional Council, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Akwu Obaje, represented by the Onu Itobe, HRH Salihu Adaji Ocholi, lauded the College’s decision to site the institution in Alloma, offered prayers for its smooth operation, and assured the traditional council’s full support.
In their separate remarks, the Onu of Igalaogba, HRH Alhaji Shaibu Yakubu Agbenyo; the Ochai Achadu, HRH Mallam Isah Ekele; and the Principal of Government Secondary School, Alloma, Elder Egbunu Tijani, all commended the initiative, describing it as timely and visionary, capable of transforming education and youth development in the area.
