
Kogi First Lady empowers over 1000 Bassa women assures on more dividends

Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo has empowered over one thousand Bassa women with Skill acquisition kits and incentives in her role as the mother of the state to alleviate poverty in the area.
Her Excellency, Hajia Ododo told the mammoth crowd which received her at Oguma the headquarters of Bassa Local Government Area on Tuesday October 7, 2025 that poverty alleviation among women is the core project of her office maintaining that when women are lifted from poverty society becomes the better.
The First Lady, Her Excellency, Hajia Sefinat Ododo thanked the people of Bassa for voting her husband, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in the last state governorship election in the state noting that the governor is aware of the problem of the rehabilitation of roads facing the area and has already put modalities in place to tackle the problem headlong.
Her Excellency, Hajia Sefinat Ododo called on Bassa women and Bassa people to keep supporting the APC led-administration of her husband, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. She assured the people in the Local Government Area that Governor Ododo’s administration would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to all the people of the state.
During the visit of Her Excellency Hajia Sefinat Ododo, the people of Bassa Local Government Area came out en-masse to welcome her at Oguma the headquarters of the Local Government Area.
Bassa Sons and daughters, well wishers, political juggernauts, traditional rulers, children, youths and the elderly all came out en-masse to receive Her Excellency, Hajia Sefinat Ododo at Oguma town.
The visit of her Excellency Hajia Sefinat Ododo was very unique as it was a great opportunity for Bassa people to receive her and have a first hand contact in expressing their gratitude to the All Progressives Congress administration in Kogi State led by His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo .
Political leaders of Bassa land like the Chairman of Bassa Local Government Area, Hon Theophilus Adama, Commissioner for Commerce and industry, Hon Muktari Shaibu , Bassa House of Assembly member, Hon Sunday Daku, Secretary Kogi State Universal Basic Education, Alhaji Alhassan Adakeke, traditional rulers led by the President Bassa traditional Council, His Royal Highness William Keke were all on hand and received Her Excellency Hajia Sefinat Ododo to Bassa Land.
In their welcome addresses both the Bassa Council Chairman, Hon Theophilus Adama and the Commissioner of Commerce and industry Hon Muktari Shaibu assured the the first Lady Hajia Sefinat Ododo that APC is the only strong and well known party in Bassa.
Hon Adama particularly thanked the Chief Servant of the state, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for impactful administration in the state noting that the governor has kept touching the lives of Kogi people in the various sectors of the economy of the state.
The Council Chairman thanked the First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo for her empowerment programme across the various Local Government Areas of the state. He said the first Lady’s motherly role in the state is imparting meaningfully in the lives of the women and families in the state.
Hon Adama thanked the First Lady for giving positive priority attention to the people of Bassa and for embarking on the visit and empowerment of Bassa women. He pleaded with the First Lady to use her good office in adding her voice to the state government in ensuring Bassa Local Government roads are rehabilitated.
