Kogi Education Commissioner Bags NUJ Award Supporting, Repositioning Educational Sector.

 

The Kogi State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has nominated the Kogi State Commissioner For Education, Hon. Wemi Jones for an award of Excellence.

The award is in recognition of his outstanding support to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo in repositioning the Educational Sector of the State.

The nomination also followed the giant strides witnessed under his leadership as Commissioner in the areas of Improved infrastructure development, providing the enabling environment for the education sector of the State to thrive.

Furthermore, the award is in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the people of Kabba Bunu LGA, particularly, towards improving the well-being of the people through regular empowerment.

The recognition and award is to be presented and unveiled to the Commissioner at the Grand finale of the 2025 Kogi NUJ Press Week with the Theme: “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development”.

The program is scheduled to hold at the EdgeDrive Hotel Lokoja, 25th September 2025 at 10:00am.

His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, Kogi State Executive Governor, would serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the Press Week Grand finale.

His Royal Majesty, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu would serve as the Royal father of the day.
