Yahaya Idris rejects appointment, thanks Toto LG Chairman
….Says he’s preparing for 2027 elections
Yahaya Idris has expressed gratitude to Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, for approving his appointment as Special Assistant (SA), alongside many other appointees, emphasizing that their strong relationship will continue to strengthen.
Idris, a native of Toto and former Senior Special Assistant and Special Adviser to two previous chairmen, explained that his recent rejection of an appointment was a deliberate and bold decision to protect his personal image amid increasing commitments related to the 2027 election process.
He also thanked the Chairman for appointing three of his younger brothers, Abdulgafar Idris as PA, Suleiman Idris as PA and Abdulwahab Idris, likening the support shown to his family to that of a loving father caring for his children.
Idris in a statement urging the Chairman not to interpret his refusal of his recent appointment as opposition but as a selfless act aimed at preserving his reputation.
Yahaya Idris wished the Chairman well and advised newly appointed officials to remain loyal, reminding them that greater responsibility comes with greater expectations.
Idris reiterated that his support for the Chairman is genuine and not driven by financial or personal gain.
