APPRECIATION
The family of late Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Idris, CON, Jakadan Sokoto, former Governor of Kogi State, wishes to express our profound and heartfelt gratitude to the general public at home and in the diaspora for your prayers, condolences, support and show of love during the illness, death, burial and 8th Day Fidau prayers of our father, which was held last Sunday simultaneously across the country.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood by our family from the announcement of our father’s passing through the funeral rites and his final burial.

His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his fatherly moral support, condolences and prayers;
His Excellency, former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his Vice Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi;
His Excellency, Alhaji Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu and His Excellency, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, former and serving Governors of Niger State;
His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, for his exceptional leadership, and ensuring full involvement of the State Government throughout the burial and Fidau arrangements, along with the Deputy Governor, members of the Kogi State Executive Council and other government officials;
His Excellency, Capt. Idris Wada and Her Excellency, Hajia Halima Wada, and His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, former Governors of Kogi State and former colleagues and fellow Governors of our father;
The National Chairman and the entire National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national, zonal, State and local government levels. Equally worthy of mention is the former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
All serving and former Governors, all serving and former Distinguished Senators. Honourable Members of the House of Representatives, serving and former National Assembly Members. All National leaders and dignitaries who mourned with us;
The Traditional Institution: His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III. His Royal Majesty, Attah Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, Attah Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Traditional Council, for his fatherly role throughout the funeral process; His Royal Highness, Alhaji Salihu Adaji Ocholi, the Onu Itobe. His Royal Highness, Chief Boniface Musa, Ojogba of Ife and Chairman, Omala Local Government Traditional Council. All first the traditional rulers in Kogi State and in the diaspora. All the religious leaders and all sons and daughters of Kogi State and the Igala Kingdom;
The Ibro Political Family, members of the Idris family, friends, associates, political and business partners, and well-wishers too numerous to mention, who visited, attended the burial, offered prayers, sent messages of condolence and supported us in various ways.
To everyone who travelled from far and near to give our father a befitting final farewell, we remain deeply grateful. Your presence, prayers, kind words and support brought comfort and strength to our family at this difficult time.
Our special and heartfelt appreciation goes to our mother, our matriarch, Hajiya Aisha Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, wife of our late father, for her unwavering love, care, sacrifice and for standing firmly by him throughout his lifetime, his illness and until his last breath. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude to you. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) will continue to be with you, reward you abundantly, and grant you long life in good health.
To all those whose names could not be mentioned individually but who stood by us, we are deeply grateful.
We humbly solicit your continued prayers for our mother and for all the children, that Almighty Allah will grant us the grace and fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant our beloved father, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Idris, Aljanatul Firdausi.
May Almighty Allah reward you all abundantly.
