Kutepa’s N50m Ramadan Palliatives for Lokoja Residents
The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Kutepa, has flagged off the distribution of Ramadan palliatives worth N50 million to over 6,000 beneficiaries across five Wards in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The essential food items, which include rice, milk, grains and beans, are being distributed through the Hakimis of the benefiting wards to ensure equitable reach to the grassroots.
Speaking at the brief ceremony on Sunday, the Mayaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Ali, who represented Kutepa, said the intervention was part of the philanthropist’s annual humanitarian gesture to cushion the hardship faced by vulnerable residents during the holy month of Ramadan
He disclosed that over 6,000 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the initiative, adding that the distribution process was carefully organised to avoid rancour and ensure transparency.
“This year’s distribution has been structured in a way that guarantees fairness and orderliness. We appeal to the Hakimis to distribute the materials with the fear of Allah and in line with the guidelines provided,” he said.
Also speaking with newsmen, a member of the Board of Trustees, Kutepa Outreach, Alhaji Danladi Abdulsalam Dina, said the gesture underscores Kutepa’s dedication to supporting communities and promoting social welfare.
Allocations were also handed over to the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) through Hajiya Maimunat Inuwa to ensure that vulnerable women and households benefit from the Ramadan support programme.
In his remarks, the Hakimi of Sarkin Noma community expressed appreciation to the Maigari of Lokoja, Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, whom he described as a role model, for his continuous support toward humanitarian initiatives in the area.
He assured the committee that the items allocated to his community would be judiciously distributed to the intended beneficiaries.
The ceremony was attended by notable personalities, including Hon. Double Prince, Hon. Danjuma Abbas, Hon. Baba Sulaiman Dan Sarkin, among others.
