2027: Kogi East Will Take Strategic Decisions to Advance State — Engr. Ankpa

The founder and convener of the Igala Vanguard, Engr. Lawrence Ankpa, has disclosed that Kogi East will take a decisive political stance to unify and advance Kogi State in the 2027 general elections.
Ankpa stated this while giving an assessment of the current political landscape in Kogi State.
He commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing a military barracks in Anyigba, noting that the enhanced military presence would boost ongoing operations against banditry and security threats in the zone.
Reflecting on recent political events, Ankpa stated that the region was misled multiple times during the last electoral cycle—from the APC gubernatorial primary to the senatorial primary—with false hopes of “national connections” that proved nonexistent.
He explained that the emotional voting decisions made by Kogi East in 2023 were driven by the failure of the Yahaya Bello administration to deliver key infrastructural and developmental projects.
He warned that unless governance improves, the voters’ reaction will repeat itself in 2027, but this time in favor of a candidate with proven integrity rather than individuals relying on name-dropping.
Ankpa urged the people of Igala and Bassa to remain confident in the democratic process, assuring them that the missteps of the 2023 elections would not recur. He added that Kogi East is ready to forge strategic political alliances with other senatorial districts in the overall interest of Kogi State.
Engr Lawrence commend leadership of Ukomu Igala under Maj Gen Ataguba Rtd and Igala stakeholders by Alhaji Hassan Enape , Ankpa thanks Ataguba for creating time for his people and his experience is an added advantage to the region and called on youths to rally round the leaders of igala for the interests of the state
