
2027: Abakaliki stakeholders adopt Governor Nwifuru for 2nd term As Nwobashi Holds Christmas Party

The stakeholders of Abakaliki Local Government Area have adopted the Ebonyi State Governor Chief Francis Nwifuru as their sole candidate come 2027 general elections.

The adoption was made during a Christmas party organized by the State Commissioner for lands and survey Dr. Matthew Nwobashi to the stakeholders, APC executives, youths and women of the council in his residence in Abakaliki.

Addressing the stakeholders, the Commissioner commended them for honoring his invitation and noted that the event is an expression of gratitude to God for this year’s Christmas and the opportunity to serve under the leadership of Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru.

He said that the reelection of Governor Nwifuru became imperative as he has performed creditably well in all sectors of the State economy hence the adoption to enable him continue his good his works in the State.
He urged youths and the entire good people of the council to embrace the adoption of the Governor to smoothen the electoral processes. “With this adoption coming from the number one local government area in the State we are good to go” he said

The commissioner further called on the people of the State to throw their weight behind the Governor’s reelection bid as one good turn deserves another.
In his remarks, the executive chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba commended the commissioner for the kind the gesture, saying he has done well even as he is not the richest person or the only political office holder in the council but because of his philanthropism and prayed God to replenish him accordingly.
He enjoined people of the council to ensure peace as they celebrate the christmas and also canvass support for Governor Nwifuru’s reelection.
The council boss, however, charged the people of the council who participated during the last continuous voter registration exercise to visit INEC Abakaliki LGA office and confirm their details to ensure error free ahead of production.
On his part, the federal commissioner Public complaint commission Dr. Chris Achi who was overwhelmed with joy, extolled the commissioner for his kind heartedness, noting that the celebration is the true demonstration of peace initiative of Governor Chief Francis Nwifuru across all the nooks and crannies of the State
“We happy because he is the first stakeholder to start this Christmas celebration in Abakaliki Local Government Area. We are celebrating happiness because the greatest thing is that there is peace in all communities in Abakaliki LGA and all parts of the State and we giving credit to His Excellency the Governor. Assuming there is no peace we wouldn’t have gathered to celebrate and we pray we should continue to celebrate in peace”
The SSA to the governor on infrastructural maintenance Hon. Ben Nwovu appreciated the commissioner for uniting the entire people of Abakaliki Local Government Area. “It is because of the unification and peaceful coexistence that the stakeholders adopted Governor Nwifuru as their sole candidate come 2027 general elections and so shall it be. We are peaceful set of people, we live in Abakaliki as one formidable family, what the commissioner did today is the replica of what Governor Nwifuru preaches, when you are bless, bless others and that is what we are celebrating today.
He described christmas celebration as a period of peace, exchange of gifts and reconciliations while urging youths of the council to shun any form of social vices in their own best interest.
Other speakers including the chairman civil service commission Lady Virginia Oketa, SSA to the Governor on secondary education Hon. Peter Nwogbaga, Coordinator Abakaliki Development Centre Hon. John Nwohoke and APC chairman Abakaliki Local Government Area Hon. Paulinus Attam poured an encomiums on the commissioner for his philanthropic disposition to the Stakeholders and the people of the council and prayed for heavenly reward upon him.
The commissioner gifted over one million naira, bags of rice and life cow to the Stakeholders.
