The decision for power to remain in the North in 2023 has been described as Illogical and a preposterous thinking by Southern Governors of Nigeria.
Recall that Nigerian Southern Governors met in Lagos yesterday where they insisted on power returning to the South, after the expiration of the tenure of President Mohammadu Buhari in 2023.
But in a swift reaction, the Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, described the call as satanic, not logical, particularly that since the advent of democracy in 1999, the South have held onto power for fourteen years.
According to him: ” Chief Olusegun Obasanjo ruled for eight years, Goodluck Jonathan for six years making it a total of fourteen years.
The APC Chieftain, Rights Activists lawyer added that Alhaji Shehu Yar’adua ruled for two years, and when added to the eight years of President Mohammadu Buhari, by 2023, the North would have ruled for ten years, insisting that for justice, equity and fairness, power ought to remain in the North for another four years.
The Convener, said it would therefore be logical for power to remain in the North Central Zone of Nigeria, a zone that is yet to test power since the advent of democracy.
He added that with the superlative performances of Gov. Bello as a unifier, having done well in security, Youth and women empowerment, and currently making waves in the areas of education, be allowed to serve the country in unifying the people and improving on the socio economic development of the nation.
Barr. Dare called on the Southern Governors to rather than fan embers of discord, strive to unite the country, described Gov. Bello as a patriot and nationalist who’s outstanding profile makes him best for the presidency in 2023.
