Stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area have called for massive support to actualize the twenty twenty -three presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello .
The immediate past Minister of State Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ocheni made the call in Lokoja at the weekend while receiving a new member of the Party, Elder Hon Friday Sani .
Professor Ocheni said the call for the people of Kogi State to give their maximum support to the presidential project became necessary inview of the interest shown by other Nigerians for Alhaji Yahaya Bello to become the next President of the country.
According to the former Minister, the people of Kogi State and the North Central Zone will benefit the more if Governor Bello eventually becomes the President of Nigeria.
Professor Ocheni who expressed delight over the decision of Elder Friday Sani to join the ruling party, said his coming into the fold would further enhanced the Unity and popularity APC enjoys in the state under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He described the former state legislator as a man with political pedigree and selfless in service , saying members of APC in Igalamela/ Odolu Local Government Area are happy with his wise decision to join the ruling party, just as he also assured him of total support of all.
The Chairman of the Party in the local Government ,Mr Paul Abalaka said stakeholders and members of the party would work with Elder Friday Sani whom he described as an asset that would make APC to remain the most popular political party in the area.
The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Local Government and Chieftiancy Affairs, Mr.Patrick Onogwu said the coming of Elder Friday Sani to the APC family was a good development for the Party in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area and the state as a whole.
The new APC member, Elder Friday Sani said his decision to join the All Progressives Congress was because of the quality leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello ,as well as his bold step to seek for the highest office in the country.
He also stated that the APC is a veritable platform for him to advance the course of his Local Government and the state,stressing that he would join hands with other leaders to improve the fortunes of the Party in Kogi State and the country in general.
Elder Friday Sani described Professor Stephen Ocheni as an accomplished technocrat, scholar and politician with uncommon character and qualities worthy of emulation, calling on him as the leader of APC in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area to sustain his selfless services to the state and the country.
Elder Sani called on the people of his Local Government and the entire youths in the state to participate actively in the APC revalidation/voter registration exercise in the state.
