2023 Presidency: Kastina Assembly Members Declare Support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s Presidential Ambition

In continuation of the nationwide tour of the Kogi State House of Assembly delegation led by Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole to woo their counterparts who are members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) across the country in support of Governor Yahaya Bello,s presidential ambition come 2023,
Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole and ten other members were in Katsina to meet with their counterparts to seek their support for Governor Bello’s intention to contest for the presidency.

Speaking at the meeting which was held at the State House of Assembly Press Centre in Katsina, Kolawole commended the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Bello Masari for their untiring efforts to stamp out the criminals in the country, particularly in the state.

He said the delegation were on an advocacy visit in the state to galvanize support for their Governor’s quest to seek for the highest office in the country, stressing that Katsina state shares some similarities with Kogi State which are very important in achieving the project hence their decision to visit the state.

Kolawole said Kogi State House of Assembly with the twenty five members being of the All Progressives Congress, same as Katsina State House of Assembly with 34 members, all also of the APC.

He pointed out that aside from the fact  Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is the first political son of President Muhammadu Buhari, the age of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is a plus with the ongoing agitation for the younger generation to be given a chance to govern the country.

This is coupled with his undisputable performances in the area of security, education, youth and women inclusiveness in governance, health, civil service reform and infrastructures development in the last five years in the state.

He said this prompted the Kogi State House of Assembly to pass a vote of confidence on him and also asked him to seek for the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria for the entire country to benefit from his leadership acumen.

He said the governor will be bold and courageous enough to confront the mirage of challenges daring the peace, unity and progress of the country, in addition to the fact that north central zone has been left in the cold since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999.

According to him, the north central needs to be supported by other zones since they have not been privileged to occupy the exalted seat of both the president and vice president.

In his reaction, Speaker of the Kastina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tasiu Maigari commended members of the Kogi State House of Assembly for taking the bull by its horns to embark on the advocacy visits across the country, stressing that Katsina is like home for Kogites considering their long standing relationship in different areas.

According to him, a lot of individuals who are of Kogi origin have held positions of responsibility in the state civil service and have made the state proud, aside the fact that many others have huge investment in Katsina and are contributing meaningfully to the socio-economy progress of the state without prejudice.

Other members who spoke noted with nostalgia the giant contributions of the former Accountant General of Kastina, Dr. Oshafunmi from Ijumu, others like Mr. Oloruntoba from Kabba, who have worked and retired as Directors and Permanent Secretaries and some still in service in Katsina state are clear indications that Kogi and Katsina states are one, hence the State Assembly will support Governor Yahaya Bello quest to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 hundred percent.

According to them there are Ebira and other people from Kogi State that are successful businessmen and are doing Katsina proud in their various fields of endeavors.

They noted that anyone who can govern Kogi State with multi ethnic and religious dimension successfully would govern Nigeria well as Kogi State is like a mini Nigeria that needs someone with cognate experience of managing people of diverse opinions.

They said the success story of Governor Yahaya Bello in tackling the security menace in the state when he came on board as the Governor need to be experimented at the national level, hence there is need for him to be given a chance to confront the daunting security and other challenges the country is currently battling with.

Other members on the delegation include, Rt. Hon, Ahmed Muhammed, Deputy Speaker and member representing Ankpa I, Hon. Hassan Bello Balogun, House Leader, Ajaokuta, Hon. Murtar Bajeh, Chief Whip, Okehi, Hon. Kilani Olusola Olumo, Ijumu, Hon. Prince Hillarioncollins Musa, Omala, Hon. Comas Ilemona Atabor, Igalamela, Hon. Ademola Bello, Mopamuro, Hon. Muhammed Dahiru, Okene 2, Hon. Aderonke Aro, Yagba West and Hon. Attajachi Musa, Idah.
