2023: Igah Traditional Council Endorse Bobby Ujah for Kogi House of Assembly


 

The Igah Traditional Council has thrown its weight behind Hon Anthony Alewo Ujah of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his bid to represent Olamaboro State Constituency in the forthcoming Kogi State House of Assembly elections.

 

Announcing the endorsement on behalf of the Council on Wednesday, the traditional ruler of Ojibo-Igah in Olamaboro LGA of the State, HRH, Chief Onuche Shaibu said Hon Bobby Ujah was the most credible and competent of all the candidates, adding that support for his re-election is hinged on his renewed commitments to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Olamaboro State Constituency.

He said the Council commends Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja whom they said, was instrumental to the grading of Ojibo Igah Chiefdom to second-class status after over 200 years of struggle.

They recalled the gentleman’s agreement on a rotational policy for Assembly membership in Olamaboro which is currently a pre​rog​a​tive of Ogugu district, hence, their decision to throw their weight behind Hon Bobby Ujah in the 11th March 2023 elections. They said Igah Chiefdom has been a beneficiary of laudable achievements of the New Direction Government and the APC administration in Kogi State under whose platform Hon Bobby Ujah currently serves.

Chief Onuche Shaibu disclosed that Hon Bobby Ujah’s first outing as a Legislative member representing Olamaboro was a good omen to Igah Chiefdom as it witnessed the elevation of worthy sons and daughters of Igah into elective and appointive positions of public service such as the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Hon Promise Emmanuel, the Vice Chairman of Olamaboro LGA, Hon Blessing Aishat Ekele, former Pension Boards Chairman, among others.
