The continuous defections of prominent politicians into the Peoples Democratic Party from across political parties, has not spared Kogi state where the next year’s PDP Governorship Aspirant, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim just received a well known grassroots and strategic political icon, Hon. MD Yusuf into the PDP from the sinking APC under the administration in Kogi state.
The Decampee had promised to work assidously and wholeheartedly for the landslide victory of all the opposition candidates during the 2023 polls.
He applauded all Politicians of the PDP extraction especially for their spirits of forebearance and forthrightness at repositioning themselves and PDP through sense of togetherness and unity in order to secure enduring changes and progress for kogi state and Nigeria beyond 2023.
It was stated that Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris has evolved overtime in advance as a useful and youthful political leader with capacity, character and influence to lead kogi State and it’s people out of the current economic backwardness and political instability that pervade the state as a result of inexperience and clueless of the current administration.
Prior to the 2015 general elections, the state was governed by the Peoples Democratic Party with alot of success stories recorded at all fronts especially during the period Alhaji Ibrahim Idris heldsway as governor.
The political tide in Ofu LGA where the current decampee hails from is showing some favourable signs capable of giving hope and assurance of success for the PDP during the next election, because the ruling party stand the chance of losing many political heavyweights on its platform to the PDP from the area.
The recent decamping of HON. MD YUSUF and many others coming behind is sending a signal that the ruling party may not find things as easy in kogi state to demonstrate rascality and ruthlessness by 2023 as it did in 2015 and 2019.
Explaining why he dumped the APC, MD Yusuf said his political career could not function properly under the APC where he was molested and tortured by some disgruntled elements and self seeking politicians.
Speaking during the defection, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim stated that he is particularly happy at the defection of Hon. MD Yusuf who joined the PDP. He is expecting in the coming days where the supporters of the decampee shall be conveyed into our party.
We shall work together to deliver the state to the party in 2023, MD Yusuf added.
MD Yusuf was welcomed into the party and he has expressed the belief that his followers and supporters would help the PDP in ousting the APC in 2023.
We will surely bring our wealth of experience and join hands with other party stakeholders to dislodge the clueless administration and enthrone a new era of prosperity and good governance for Kogites.
Apparently, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is focused on winning the majority of top politicians in the Kogi state for the 2023 ahead.
