We Are United Nigeria Movement has advocated that 65 years be made the benchmark to contest for the Nation’s Presidency and other positions in the next dispensation.
We Are United Nigeria Movement in statement signed by Hon Felix Tolurunju Idowu, urged the Nigerian Youths to in the forthcoming dispensation in 2023 make the retirement age from participating for the Nation’s Presidency to be 65 years.
The statement by We Are United Nigeria Movement was a reaction to Gov. Kayode Fayemi’s statement that Nigerian Youths will not allow anybody above 60 years of age to rule the country come 2023 at the National Conference organized by the National Council of Youths in Abuja, recommended 65 years for retirement from party politics.
We Are United Nigeria Movement called on the Nigerian Youths to allow the Mandatory 65 Years old as is applicable for Civil servants to also come to play in politics adding that It would also allow for sound minds to be adequately engaged in the politics.
While pointing out that anyone above 65 years should not be allowed to participate in the Presidential and other elections, the We Are United Nigeria Movement assured that the time for people above 65 years to leave the stage for the younger generation is now.
The Statement said the nation has a large poll of young people that have been well groomed for leadership positions in modern governance, insisting that Nigerian Youths up to ages of 65 should be given the space in a technologically driving governance henceforth.
