The Peoples Democratic Party Frontiers, a Youth pressure group from Idah LGA of Kogi State says it is not resting until Barr. Kabiru Usman accepts the call for him to join the forthcoming Governorship race.
The PDP has released timetable for the election of the party’s Flagbearer likely to come up between March and April, with the Governorship election slated for November 2022.
The group called on Barr. Kabiru Usman to join the forthcoming Kogi Governorship race as it is obvious that he has all it takes to rescue the State from under development.
The Group in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja at the weekend, signed by Taihiru Usman Maliki said they have begun advocacy in the nine LGAs in Kogi East to drum support for Barr. Mohammed Kabiru Usman, to join the race.
The group members who are members of the Peoples Democratic Party, described Barr. Usman, PDP former National legal Adviser in 2016, as an experienced and seasoned administrator, a thorough breed party man, says he has the understanding of the working of the Party, revealed that he has all it takes to move the State forward in terms of infrastructure development.
The Group called on the former Legal Adviser of the PDP to listen to the yearning and aspirations of the PDP and that of Kogi people cutting across party lines to throw his hat into the ring, says they are not resting until he heed to there calls.
The group assured that with a membership strength cutting across the State and numbering over half a million, promised Barr. Kabiru the maximum support needed to run the race in terms of mobilization and logistic support.
They described Barr. Kabiru as a home grown politician, experienced in administration, praised him for living with the people, said he is not a diaspora politician nor an Abuja based politician.
The group disclosed that he knows the people of the State and and there peculiarities, a feat that makes him best fit to govern the State in the next dispensation.
The group described Barr. Kabiru Usman as a a perfect bridge builder, detribalized personality, said his positive antecedents, speaks volumes if he decides to contest the Governorship seat of the State.
Born in 1966, Barr. Mohammed Kabiru Usman attended RCM Primary school, Ankpa 1972 – 1977 and St Charles College, Ankpa 1977- 1982.
Upon completion of his secondary education, Barr. Kabiru proceeded to SBS, University of Jos between 1983- 1984 and later gained admission into the prestigious University of Jos between 1984-1988 graduated with LL.B Hon’s,
He attended the Nigerian Law School between 1988-1989, was the Head of Chambers, B.M Dalhatu & Co 1987-2000.
Barr. Usman Kabiru has served as Principal Partner and Head of Practice, Deluxe Chambers from 2000 to date.
Barr. Kabiru Usman has equally held many political party positions. He was the Zonal Legal Adviser, PDP North Central, 2008 – 2014 and
PDP National legal Adviser in 2016.
Barr. Kabiru Usman was the Chairman Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Idah 2012- 2015
He served as Secretary, Kogi state Presidential Campaign Council, Jonathan 2015, has served the PDP in several Committees.
Barr. Kabiru Usman is the Chairman, Board of Directors, Caribbean Petroleum Ltd, has attended many conferences, Workshops and Seminars on Governance and Economic development
A recipient of many Awards, Barr. Kabiru Usman is presently the Secretary Kogi State Presidential campaign of the Atiku 2022, is married and blessed with children, his efforts working collectively with the PCC, saw the PDP making an unprecedented showing at the rally that hosted the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, with over 148,000 APC and other political party members Join the PDP yesterday.
