Preparatory to the formal flag off of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP campaign and the visit of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to Edo State, the Secretary to Edo State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq, hosted over 4000 women drawn from Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, in his Benin City home.
The carnival like event attracted 5 women from each of 641 units in the 10 wards. Hundreds of Arewa women are also present.
The PDP leaders and women were addressed by the State PDP Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq and the Edo South Senatorial Candidate, Mr. Matthew Iduoriyikemwen.
Dr. Aziegbemi urged the women to remain steadfast in their support for the PDP presidential candidate and all the candidates of the party across the state.
The host, Ogie, thanked the women for turning up in huge numbers, despite the short notice. He assured them that the government of Edo State will continue to address their needs and reciprocate their support which he described as rare and commendable.
He pleaded with them to turn out in their numbers on Saturday 22 October, 2022 to welcome Atiku Abubakar and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates.
Iduoriyikemwen on his part, expressed gratitude to the women and urged them to replicate their support across the 641 units of Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
