2023: Don’t set the country ablaze through religion, ethnicity, politics – FUL VC Prof Akinwumi.


 

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi has warned against setting the country on fire through religion, ethnicity and politics.

 

Professor Akinwumi gave the warning on Thursday in Lokoja while speaking at a lecture and award ceremony to mark the 31st anniversary of the creation of Kogi state Organised by The Nigerian post newspaper.

“As we approach 2023 general election,let me sound a note of warning, don’t set this house Nigeria ablaze, before you do,let’s consult the oracle to ask for directions.

The Vice Chancellor said Nigeria would be a great country as she possesses every quality of a great country adding that what is needed to achieve the potentials were patient, tolerance and genuine love for the country.

Speaking on the topic:” Governance, Leadership redefined.This house must not fall” the guest lecturer, Tope Joel Nigeria cannot afford to fail as other countries of the world are looking up to us as a country for there.

“2023 is a decider for our country and we must redefine our leadership structure because we cannot afford to fail.uf the house will not fall we must reengineer from home and train and retrain our wards and children towards the path of righteousness.”

Also speaking,the Chief of staff to the governor Jamiu Asuku said “We must not allow the state to fall adding that was why the Governor had make security of live and property a top priority of new direction administration

Asuku enjoined citizens of the state to sustain the effort of the governor on maintaining togetherness which is part of the new direction agenda of the governor.

The Chief of staff seized the opportunity to reel out some of the achievements of the governor to include Ganaja bridge, Lokoja, reference hospital, Okene Koto- Nkarfe and others

He called for cooperation of all citizens to prevent the House from falling but move the country forward towards the path of success and prosperity.
