
The Member Representing Bassa Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr. Rayi Daniya has appealed to the State Government to renovate the General Hospital Oguma in Bassa Local Government area.
Mr. Daniya made the appeal while raising a motion of Urgent Public Importance on the need to rehabilitate the Oguma General Hospital which he noted is in a dilapidated condition.
According to Daniya, aside from the structural deficit of the hospital, the health facility is faced with insufficient Medical Doctors and other health workers, equipment and drugs.
He explained that the Hospital must be revisited to improve the Health condition of the people of the Local Government.
The Lawmaker also prayed the House to direct the Committee on Health to pay an on the spot assessment to the Hospital.
Seconding the motion, the Deputy Chief Whip, Moses Ododo described the motion as timely, coming at the time the State Government is revamping the health Sector.
Responding, the Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole assured that Kogi State House of Assembly is to engage the Ministry of Health towards including renovation of Hospitals in the 2022 budget estimate.
Prince Kolawole directed the House Committee on Health to have an interface with the Health Ministry on how to include the renovation of Hospitals across the State in the next Financial year.
According to him, such move will go a long way in enhancing the health of rural dwellers across the State.
