The African Mothers Initiative has announced plans to host the 2nd edition of the All-Women Inter-State Debate 2.0 in Abuja, with a formal request extended to Amb. Hon. Abdulsalam Bawa Dangana to serve as one of the judges.
The debate is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2026 at *11:00 a.m. prompt* at the *Rotunda Hall, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Abuja.
According to a letter signed by the National President of the African Mothers Initiative, Mrs. Margaret Mkpanam, the event will hold under the theme: “Family Inclusion in National Development, Financial Economy, and Community Security.”
The aim, she said, is to promote the intellectual capacity of Nigerian women for enhanced political participation and to provide a platform for women across sectors to contribute ideas to national development.
“The debate seeks to bring together Nigerian women, including politicians, civil servants, technocrats, business professionals, and other experts — to share informed opinions on political participation, financial contributions, and involvement in community security initiatives,” the letter stated.
Eighteen states are expected to participate. The debate will be structured into 18 sessions, with states paired on proposing and opposing sides. Each state will have 6 minutes to present: First Speaker 3 minutes, Second Speaker, 2 minutes, Third Speaker 1 minute. This gives a total of 12 minutes per debate session.
The African Mothers Initiative noted that it holds Amb. Hon. Bawa Dangana in high esteem and is seeking his collaboration and support to ensure the successful hosting of the debate.
