You Lack Powers to dissolve LG Coordinators Forum – Forum of LG Coordinators Tells Kogi NYCN Boss.


 

 

The Forum of Local Government Coordinators of the National Youth Council of Nigeria says the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter has no powers to dissolve the activities of the Forum.

The Local Government Council Forum across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State in a statement
signed by the PRO Sunday .A. Daniel, while reacting to their dissolution yesterday said the State Chairman lacks the constitutional right to dissolve their activities.

According to the statement, Constitutionally, the Forum is to choose, elect their leadership, with the name submitted to the State Chairman for announcement.

While noting that he lacks such powers to appoint and dissolve, said the forum of State Chairmen is a replica of the forum of local government chapters, wondered where the State Chairman derived his powers to dissolve, described his actions as null and void.

The Forum said it major issues with the State NYCN Chairman includes his unnecessary deduction of local government subvention.

The Forum equally accused the State Chairman of non payment of subvention to some local governments chapters for months.

They further accused him of using the local government subvention to pay State executives instead of using the state’s subvention for such purposes.

Similarly, part of their grouse with the State NYCN Chairman according to the Forum is the use of local government subvention to carry out projects instead of using the state subvention for such purposes, frowned at his refusal to carry along other State executives from the various local government of Kogi State.

The Forum further accused the State Chairman of only working with the Secretary and Treasurer and sidelining other members of the Executive Council, said he runs the affairs of the Council alone, arbitrarily, said his dissolution is of no consequences.

Furthermore, the Forum fingered the State Chairman for his refusal to call state executive meetings and management meeting for a year now contrary to the constitutional provisions which says that the management meetings should be quarterly.

The Forum lastly frowned and accused the State Chairman of using vulgar language’s on the Coordinators, insisting that he lacks the power to dissolve the activities of the LG Coordinators pointing out that his action is dead on arrival…. Continue reading
