SSA Student Affairs Appreciates Gov. Ododo for Approval Over Bursary For Kogi Undergraduate, Law School Students
… Says N5m for Miss Favour will encourage talented students.
Comr. Isah Emmanuel Ojodunwene, aka Mario, Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs to the Kogi State Governor, has on behalf of the student community of the State express his appreciation to Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo for his approval of bursary for undergraduate students of the State.
Recalled that in a significant move to support higher education, the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, approved a bursary of N316 million for 8,750 eligible undergraduate students from Kogi State.
The financial assistance the Governor disclosed aims to enhance the educational prospects of the students as well as alleviate the financial burden associated with pursuing their studies.
Additionally, Governor Ododo announced that students of Kogi State origin studying law at various law schools will now receive a bursary of N300,000 each.
The support the SSA on Student Affairs said reflects the government’s commitment to fostering legal education and encouraging aspiring lawyers from the region.
A total of 201 law students from Kogi State have been cleared for the law school bursary, amounting to N60.3 million.
The SSA described the gesture as record breaking, described the Governor as a man who honours his words.
The SSA added that the presentation of a N5million complimentary cheque to Miss Favour Oluwatimilayo Toyin Adebayo, a Kogi State indigene currently studying in Poland on a scholarship, underscores the state’s effort to support talented students pursuing educational opportunities outside Nigeria.
The SSA thanked the Kogi State Commissioner For Education, Hon. Wemi Jones and Mr. Afolabi Joseph Raji, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Scholarship Board, assured of the support of students from state to the government.
The SSA called on the student community to remain supportive of the present administration of Gov Ododo, pointing out that at the appropriate time, they students will reciprocate the gesture by supporting him as well as studying hard to become responsible citizens of the State.
