Spate of Insecurity in Nigeria, worries Sen. Jibrin Isah, calls for intense prayers.


 

 

The Senator Representing Kogi East Senatorial District in National Assembly, Sen. Jibrin Isah has expressed concerns over the spate of insecurity in the Country,
calls for intense prayers and supplication, stressed that Nigerians are living in constant fear called for urgent need to curb high spate of criminality.

Senator Isah disclosed this while speaking during the Hijrah Celebration organised by National Council of ulamah, Kogi State Council in Lokoja on Saturday, stated that activities of faceless bandits, kidnappers and Boko Haram have posed a lot of challenges to the psychi of generality of Nigerians as no one knows who is the next victim.

He lamented that Nigerians are living in constant fears, saying the Council of Ulamah should used the occasion to pray for the country, Kogi State and governor Yahaya Bello.

The federal lawmaker who is the Chairman of the occasion noted that while he was travelling to the State capital for this programme, said the fear of the unknown has pervaded his mind as anything can happen on the way.

He pointed out that the lessons of 1443 Hijirah is that everyone must go back to the basics and move from evil deeds to God, stressing that this will equally solve the leadership problem confronting the the country now.

The Chairman of Kogi State Council of Ulamah and Chief Immam of Ankpa, Sheikh Salman Adam, explained that the secondary and most important meaning ot Hijrah is to Migrate from all evils and be committed to Good deeds.

‘We pray and ask him to replace our individual and collective sadness with Joy; sickness with recovery; poverty with wealth; backwardness with progress; hardship with ease; quarrel with reconciliation and above all faithlessness with faithfulness.

The highlights of the occasion is the Hijrah Celebration which include, lecture, childrens march-pass and the unveiling of 1443 calendar, while the second segment was the Commissioning of the restructured Council of Ulamah Secretariat located at Obasanjo Square Lokoja.

The Council of Ulamah applauded Governor Yahaya Bello the Governor of Kogi State for his favourable consideration and disposition to the major religion and their adherents in the state.

“The council shall continue to recognize this fact and partner with the government and all other stakeholders the aspect of unity, security, peace and peaceful co-existence in Kogi State, he said.
