So’mi Edumare, Kogi West Peoples Democratic Party Senatorial District Aspirant has condemned the armed robbery attacks that took place in Egbe and Odo-Ere communities yesterday afternoon, in which three commercial banks were violently destroyed and unspecified amount of monies carted away.
The aspirant also condoles with the families of those who lost their lives by the bullets of the rampaging armed robbers.
In a statement he made available to Newsmen, Otunba Adeniyi lamented the recurrence of the bank robberies in Yagba Land and regretted that it will not only curse untold hardship to the people ahead of the Xmas and New Year celebrations but may be a protracted one this time as it may render the entire area non viable for commercial banking activities if the banks consider their loss over the comparative advantage of doing business in the area and subsequently refuse to reopen their damaged branches as he opined.
He decried the worsening security situations in the country called on the federal government to do something urgently.
He called for the review of the operational strategies of security agencies in the state Advocates for community policing and intelligence gathering to avert future attacks of this nature” He said.
He prayed for the souls of the departed ones and commiserates with the good people of Egbe,Odo-Ere and the entire Yagba Federal Constituency for the unfortunate incident, as he also calls on the State and Federal Government to work together in ensuring that perpetrators of the heinous acts are brought to book soon.
