The National Space Research and Development Agency ( NASRDA ) with The Kogi State College of Education Technical Kabba and Adebayo Kehinde, inventor of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on Tuesday18th January,2022 signed a memorandum of understanding, MoU, to build manned
and unmanned aerial vehicle prototypes to promote the development of
industries through effective supply of products to priority sector such as Defence,
mining, engineering, energy, chemical, construction, transportation,
communication,agriculture and agro-allied industries.
Singing the document at the Obasanjo space centre, Abuja, the Director General NASRDA, Dr Halidu Ahmad Shaba noted that the Kogi State College of Education Technical Kabba is the first college of education in Nigeria to signed an MoU with the agency.
Dr Shaba explained that with the signing of the MoU, the agency is now fully set to collaborate with the College in introducing a diploma programme in space innovation and development.
The Provost, Mrs Victoria Olusola Jagboro who signed onbehalf of the College noted this feats is another proof of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s willingness to end insecurity in Nigeria and boost food production through the use of drones.
According to Mrs Jagboro, the introduction of Diploma programme in Space innovative and development in the College has giving the teaming Nigeria youths the opportunity to compete with their contemporaries in the developed nations.
In his remarks, the invetor, Adebayo Kehinde who is a graduate of metal works Technology of the College, expressed his readiness to work with the terms and conditions of the MoU to support both the College and NASRDA in achieving the set goals and objectives.
