University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital , Ilorn Kwara state has solicited for financial assistance from well meaning Nigerians and Corporate Organisations to enable the health institution finance the medical bills of Mr Bernard Coker (27 years) who requires a bone marrow transplant outside Nigeria at the cost of N20 Million.
The financial assistance was contained a statement signed by the Consultant Haemotologist Dr A. O Shittu working with the hospital .
According to the statement , Coker with hospital registration number 627288 has been at the department of Haematology , University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital since 2016 with a case of chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.
The statement added that the patient has been on medications , blood transfusions and other supportive case, saying recently, the medical case became progressively resistant to medication and has worsen his clinical condition.
The health condition according to the statement seek bone marrow transparent in an advanced cancer care outside the country with a medical bills of N20million.
The Consultant therefore solicited for financial assistance from Corporate organisation and individuals to save the life of Bernard Coker who has been bed ridden in the last four years in the hospital.
