Let us unite for overall development of Igu Kingdom, Ohimegye Appeals
The people of Igu- Kotonkarfe Kingdom have been called upon to unite together as one family for the overall development of the area.
The Ohimege Igu of kotonkarfe, Dr Saidu Akawu Salihu made the call in a message during the turbanning ceremony of two illustrious sons from the area held in kotonkarfe.
The Ohimege who bestowed the titles of Sadauki and Mainasara of Igu kotonkarfe kingdom on Mallam Haruna Ahmed Azukutenyi and Alhaji Yahaya Yunusa Abige said Igu kotonkarfe kingdom is earnestly yearning for development and required a combine efforts of all the citizens from the area.
The Royal Father described the celebrants as worthy sons of the area asserting that the traditional titles bestowed on them was to recognize their efforts and pedigree.
He charged them to use their contacts to galvanize the needed unity and developmental opportunities kotonkarfe area is looking for.
In a remark, the Ohinoyi of Girinya, Alhaji Momoh Ganaguda said two illustrious sons from the area were carefully selected for the honor, describing them as worthy sons who have contributed immensely to the development of kotonkarfe area.
Earlier in an opening speech, the chairman of Kogi local government area, Alhaji Musa Abdulmalik Nyaba who was represented by the Senior Special assistant on youth Mobilization, Salihu Muhammad described the titles confered on them as a significant step in their journey of life.
He enjoined them to continue to recognize the value of their community and commended the Ohimege Igu of kotonkarfe for his leadership, vision and commitment towards preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Igu kotonkarfe kingdom.
Also contributing, the Permanent Member 1, SUBEB Kogi state , Alhaji Dauda Aliyu described the honor done on two of the illustrious sons Igu kingdom as unique and the best that could have happened to them, in view of the fact that they have paid their dues when it comes to the upliftment of kotonkarfe area and the society at large and urged them to keep on with the legacy of their parents and use the honor done to them to foster unity and development in the land.
In their separate remarks, the celebrants, Mallam Haruna Ahmed Azukutenyi and Alhaji Yahaya Yunusa Abige expresses delight on the titles conferred on them, noting that it will spur them to do more for the overall growth of Igu kotonkarfe area.
They commended the Ohimegye and his Council of Chiefs for reckoning with them.
