The Kogi State Commissioner For Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Muhammed Danladi Farouk has been promoted and elected into the rank of the Fellow Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE)
The Commissioner was decorated as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers at a well attended ceremony of the Nigerian Society of Civil Engineers held in Abuja.
The National Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Engineers Civil Engineers, Engr. V.C Ezugu who presented Engr. Farouk with a certificate, described the Water Resources Commissioner as a pride to the Civil Engineering profession in Nigeria.
The Chairman said having satisfied the conditions laid down in the Institution’s memorandum and articles of association, admitted Engr. Farouk as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, is fully entitled to all the privileges granted therein.
The Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers is a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, being the highest rank in the Civil Engineering Profession.
In his citation read at the occasion, Engr. Yahaya Muhammed Danladi Farouk, was born over five decades ago, is an indigene of Lokoja LGA, Kogi State.
He attended Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State where he obtained his General Certificate of Education ‘O’ Level
1984. He had earlier attended Ma’ahadi LSMB School, Lokoja from 1973-1979.
The quest for greater knowledge for accomplishments, made Engr. Farouk to strive for more educational stint at Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger State, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State and Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Trained as a Civil Engineer, Engr. Farouk had his National Diploma in Building Technology. Higher National Diploma (CIVIL ENG’RG STRUCTURES).
Post Graduate Diploma (CIVIL ENG’RG). Masters In Engineering, Civil ENG’RG (MENG -Civil).
Engr. Farouk has to his credit to have attended several training courses in Civil Engineering and Structures. In 2012, he attended a short Course in Waste Management and City Governance in Malaysia, has Membership of several Professional bodies which include; ®️Nigerian Society of Engineers
®️Corporate Member, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers ®️Corporate; registered as Civil Engineer (COREN) since 2014.
A Civil Engineer of repute, Engr. Farouk has been involved in the design and

The Institution described the Kogi State Water Resources Commissioner as very versatile and a multi tasking Professional, m has served as Member, Audit Committee on the Review And harmonization of all
financial regulations and guidelines of Local Government In Kogi State.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Water Resources has also served as the Acting Chairman, Lokoja LGA, retired from the Civil Service as Director of Local Government Administration, is a goal getter anytime, any day.
Engr. Farouk is a foundation member of the NSE in Kogi State, he is presently the Branch Chairman, NSE Lokoja Chapter,

Described by the institution as a dependable and reliable personality, Engr. Farouk served his fatherland under the National Youth Service Scheme in the Ministry of Works
Jigawa State, Dutse, is happily married, with the union blessed with Children.
His hobbies includes: reading, writing, loves watching football, holds the prestigious traditional title of Gabi Sayyadi of Eggan(Daaniya).
Speaking after the promotion to the rank of a Fellow NICE, Engr. Farouk dedicated the promotion to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, thanked him for the opportunity to showcase his Engineering competence.
He assured that the promotion would spur him to continue to serve the nation in the delivery of the delivery of sustaining the nation’s infrastructure.
