Kogi Education Commissioner Expresses Satisfaction With Conduct of Ongoing Centralized Mock Examination


 

…. Restates Present Administration’s Resolve to ensure discipline, zero tolerance against examination malpractices.

 

Kogi State has reiterated its resolve towards maintaining discipline and sustain zero tolerance for examination malpractices.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones made the disclosure while monitoring the ongoing conduct of Centralized Mock Examinations in some selected centres in Lokoja, expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere witnessed in all the schools visited.

 

The Commissioner tasked the Teachers And students to maintain the highest form of discipline and to shun all forms of examination malpractices that would dent the image of the State, school and names of the students, described the Mock Examination as preparatory to the forthcoming external examinations.

 

He disclosed that the Kogi State Education law mandates the Ministry to conduct Mock Examinations before any external examination like WAEC, JAMB, said the Ministry is resolutely committed to maintaining standard and its excellent record achieved in 2020 WAEC examination, promised not to rest on its oars.

He described the examination as only a test of knowledge ahead of the forthcoming external examination, urged the schools and students to see the Examination not as a do or die affairs, insisting that the present administration in the state is not only against examination malpractices it is particularly about discipline and conduct of Teachers and students.

 

Hon. Jones expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the examination, advised the students to see the Mock examination as only a preparatory examination, urged them not to allow themselves be engaged in cheating, said if they do not do well in the present examination, other opportunities will present itself.

 

Hon. Jones expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of students and the examination officials in the centres visited, said the state is working towards improving on its performance record in the previous external examination by improving on the curriculum and conduct of examination.

 

 

Hon. Jones expressed the determination of the present administration to making education the bedrock of sustainable development, assured that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology would continue to ensure standardization and uniformity towards justifying the present administration’s huge investment in the sector.

Speaking in the schools visted, Mr. Baike Bamidele, the Examination officer, Crowther Memorial College, Ayeoribe Jayeola, Examination officer, Bishop Delisle College, Ayodele Emmanuel, Examination officer of Government Science Secondary School Adankolo, the Examination officers of Harmony Secondary School and Scintillate International School Army Barracks expressed satisfaction with the quality and quantity of examination materials deployed for the Centralized Mock Examination, assured of high level of the conduct of the Teachers and Students to the examination.
