KASHIM AKOR EMPOWERS MARKET WOMEN AT MARKET ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION


 

The Director General of National Productivity Centre, Abuja, Dr. Kashim Akor has inaugurated the Ankpa Local Government Chapter of Market Men and Women Welfare Association and United Business Women of Nigeria and Diaspora.
Performing the inauguration of the Association at Ankpa Council Secretariat, Dr. Kashim Akor assured Ankpa people, business men and women of his continuous support to add value to their life and to boost their socio-economic activities.

 


He called for the unity of purpose of the traders to be exemplary in their services to mankind and contribute maximally to the economic progress and growth of their businesses, Ankpa Local Government, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
Dr. Kashim Akor charged the traders in Ankpa to continue to maintain and sustain healthy business transactions worthy of emulation by other local chapters of the association.
He restated his commitment to impact positively on their life and empowered the traders with fund to help and keep their businesses flowing.
The Director General urged the beneficiaries of his gesture to put to use for the purpose intended without diversion as its negative utilization meant economic lose to the area.
The philanthropist who has also provided social amenities to alleviate the suffering of Ankpa people in the electrification of street light in Ankpa township, donation of computer sets to Secondary Schools as well as empowerment of youth, market men and women, promised to sustain his philanthropism for the peace and progress of the people. Dr. Kashim Akor has also promised to donate a transformer to Ankpa Township soonest.
The new market Co-ordinator of the association, Hajia Safiya Alidu, appreciated all for gracing the occasion and commended Hon. Stephen Emmanuel for his untiring effort to make ceremony a success.
She stated that she will be exemplary but act as the servant of the traders in Ankpa LGA and called for total support of members for peaceful and prosperous business activities.
The Chairperson of Ankpa LGA, Hajia Mariam Ibrahim who is also the Secretary of the Association, said the inauguration will spur her to do more for Ankpa people and thanked G4 media Chairman, Hon. Stephen Emmanuel for his sincerity of purpose.
In a remark, the Kogi State President of Market Men and Women Association, Hajia Momo Gimba, appreciated Dr. Kashim Akor for his concern and contribution to empower Ankpa market traders.
She appealed to the Ankpa business community to double their efforts in their businesses to promote good name of the area.
Hajia Momo Gimba who is also Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Markets for Kogi East, reminded the new market leadership to maintain and sustain peaceful co-existence of the traders and to offer good and affordable businesses to the people of Ankpa LGA.
Speaking, Hon. Ibrahim Abagu, the Executive Chairman of Ankpa LGA, expressed delight for the inauguration of Ankpa market officers and advised them to be co-operation and united in their resolved to serve their fatherland in their different capacities.
Hon. Ibrahim Abagu stated that Ankpa Local Government Council will cooperate with the Market Association for peaceful business environment.
He reminded Ankpa people to be their brothers keeper in whatever they do for the peace and progress of the area.
The Council Boss commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his administration untiring effort to make the State safe for all to go about in search for their daily livelihood unhindered.
The Ankpa Local Government Chapter Market Association inauguration was anchored and covered by Hon. Stephen Emmanuel of G4 Media International, Abuja. The ceremony was graced and attended by Traditional rulers, Ankpa LGA officials, eminent personalities as well as Ankpa men and women and friends including associates of the business community.
