The Director General, Moses Olorunleke Campaign Organisation in the upcoming local government election in Kogi, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has congratulated the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for making the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology in the state a reality.
Omoluabi who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Political Matters said this is a landmark, remarkable and indelible achievement that will further consolidate the governor’s effort to drive development through education.
In a chat with newsmen on Wednesday, Omoluabi said the governor has demonstrated capacity and willingness to leverage on the abundant human and material resources in Kogi to ensure development in technology through the new university.
“There is never a better way to leave a legacy of development than capacity building through education. The actualisation of Confluence University of Science and Technology is a giant stride in the governor’s effort to leave a lasting footprint in the state.
“This will not only drive 21st century knowledge based economy and technological innovation for the emerging Kogi State but will provide a fertile ground for the economic prosperity of the people.
“Numerous direct and indirect labour will be created, thereby taking hundreds of people out of the labour market. Small and medium scale businesses that will further help in oiling the wheel of the state economy, particularly Osara community that will host the university.
“I am grateful that a day like this has come. It has opened the vista for our people to acquire knowledge from their immediate environment. It is a legacy that will serve as a reference point” he said.
Omoluabi also expressed optimism that the candidate of APC in Kabba/Bunu in the December 12 local government election, Moses Olorunleke will emerge victorious at the polls, calling on the people to vote for him.
