ICDA hails change of service chiefs, congratulates, pledges supports to ensure service delivery.

The Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) has congratulated the new service chiefs and pledged their total support and cooperation to make them to discharge their duty effectively and efficiently, particularly in the Igala nation of kogi state that incident of insecurity is persistently on the rise.

In a brief press conference in Lokoja on Wednesday, the Director of operations of the Caretaker Committee of ICDA, Right Activist, Goodman Akwu said that the Igala ethnic nationality in the east of Kogi State is ready to work with the new service chiefs in the areas of credible intelligence gathering & logistics in order to
ride off criminals from the enclave.

He stressed that no doubt the appointment of the new service chiefs is based on merit lased with competence and professionalism, saying that it is expected of new service heads to evolve new strategies in order to remedy the bad situation of the country where terrorism, banditry and kidnapping have hit the roof of the nation, with freightening consequence of insecurity staring the country in the face.

“We sincerely congratulate you people for your new appointment, but you have to hit the ground running immediately.

“The security situation of country is in a complete mess, with wanton loss of lives and properties, which is no longer news.

The ICDA therefore prayed to God to grant new service chiefs the courage and ideas to lift the country out of the present security paralysis that the nation has found herself; stressing that the onus lies on every ethnic group in the country to synergise together to call the bluff of the insecurity issue currently bedevilling Nigeria.

The federal government had announced names of new service chiefs on Tuesday following the resignation and retirement of the then service chiefs. The new service chief includes, Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
