Gov. Ododo Provides Transformer to Kwararafa Community in Lokoja

… Residents Express Appreciation, Appeal For Another Transformer, Reticulation of Water.

Residents of Kwararafa Community in Lokoja have expressed their profound appreciation to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for the recent provision of transformer to the Community.

The Kwararafa community has in the last three months lived in darkness, until the challenge was whispered in to the ears of Dr. Usman Ogbo, Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, who in turn approached the State Governor, without hesitation, the Governor gave approval for the release of a brand new transformer.

Following the delivery and connection of the transformer to the Ajaokuta Power supply, the Community now enjoys steady power supply, except for the issue of overloading, leading to load shedding.

The same reason residents attributed to what made the former transformer to pack up before the recent intervention of the Governor.

Since the construction of the Kwararafa Community road by the former administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the area became a beehive of construction activities. People started building on daily basis, consequently, brought heavy loads on the single transformer provided the community by the present administration.

The road leading to the Community was in a deplorable condition till ending of last year. Dr. Ogbo also approached former Gov. Bello, who promptly granted approval for the road construction. The Community now wears a new look, with the new settlement now a centre of attraction.

While expressing appreciation to Gov. Ododo, the residents have however called on well meaning individuals, including the State Government to still look in their direction by providing them with an additional transformer. This they maintained, will give life to the current one recently provided and installed.

They thanked Gov. Ododo for the gesture and for his intervention at this critical moment, appreciated the administration for remembering Kwararafa Community amidst competing demands.

They equally called on the government to also cap up the efforts it has made with the transformer and road construction by extending through reticulation, the greater Lokoja Water network to the Community.

They concluded by appreciating the Commissioner for Rural Development, the Managing Director, Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency, KOGROMA, for implementing the approvals of Gov Ododo, Alhaji Bello promptly, which led to the delivery of the transformer as well as the repair of the road to the Community.
