The people of Kogi State have been told to sustain their support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to enable them enjoy more gains of democracy.
A former Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ocheni made the call while revalidating his membership of APC at his Iyegu Unit, Oforanchi Ward One in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area.
Professor Ocheni said the coming on board of the party at all levels of governance in the country has changed leadership narrative positively, particularly at the federal and state levels.
The former Minister described the ongoing revalidation and membership registration as a worthy exercise ,which will also show the numerical strength of APC ahead of the 2023.
He called on those who are yet to join the party to use the period of the registration to become members of the ruling party.
“This exercise for revalidation and membership registration is very important because it will create opportunity for those who want to join the party, including youth that have attained the age of 18 years to register, am happy the exercise is hitch free in every part of my Local Government .
Professor Ocheni commended the Kogi State ,Governor ,Alvhaji Yahaya Bello for creating the enable environment for a smooth exercise in the state.
Meanwhile, the former Minister along with other stakeholders of APC today at Ajaka, headquarters of Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area received many supporters of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Area into All Progressives Congress, APC.
Professor Ocheni while welcoming the defectors commended them for the wise decision ,adding that they will enjoy all privileges like other members of the Party.
Some stakeholders of APC in the Area, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu and Elder Friday Sani both expressed happiness that APC is waxing stronger and now the prefer choice of many in Igalamela /Odolu Local Government Area .
Some of the defectors in their remarks, said they joined the Party because of the commitment of Professor Stephen Ocheni, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu and Elder Friday Sani to the development of the Local Government.
