Forceful Invasion By Pan African United Youths Development Network: WACL Ajaokuta Petitions Commissioner of Police.


 

The West African Ceramics Limited Ajaokuta has written a letter of petition to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command over the invasion of its factory by a Non Governmental Organization, Pan African United Youths Development Network .

According to the Petition titled: Tresspass, Forceful Entrance and Threat To Existing Peace In Our Factory by Pan African United Youths Development Network, signed by Lawal Idris, Chairman of WACL, and copied THENIGERIANPOST, said the Pan African United Youths Network had on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 at about 05:45pm forced their way into the factory using Armed Security Escort made up of the Army and the Police, alongside some Media Men.

The Petition by Lawal Idris said ” the Security men who operated in a Gestapo manner, scared away our security men at the gate, forced their way through, claiming that they have written to the Inspector General of Police of their coming.

Despite the intervention by the Human Resources Manager who gave them audience and sought to know their mission, the team in their numbers made a threat, stating that if the issues raised by them are not resolved, they would return and destabilize and close down the factory in seven days time from the date of their invasion.

The Chairman of WACL, called on the Commissioner of Police to take action so as to avoid unpleasant and chaotic situation in the factory in the event that they actualize their threat.

He disclosed that the factory accommodates more than 800 workers per shift, working legitimately to earn a living, added that any unlawful action by the unauthorized Organization or Youths forum may be resisted, which May result to chaos, breakdown of law and order.

The Pan African United Youths Development Network had in a letter dated 5th January, 2021 written to the WACL requesting for a Courtesy call.

The Letter requesting audience was signed by Amb. Habib Mohammed, President ( Nigeria ) and Amb. Yara Yara Secretary ( Guinea Conakry ), says the network has mandate to promote peaceful coexistence for a progressing society’.

The NGO in the letter seeking audience, says it is an unbrella body that provide platform for engagement between Government and the governed, stormed the WACL, forced its way in an invasion that left many scampering for safety.

Efforts to speak with Amb. Habib Mohammed by the THENIGERIANPOST to confirm reason for the invasion proved abortive as he said he was going to refer the question asked him to the Special Adviser, Media of Pan African United Youths Development Network for response. But up until the time of going to the press he has not responded.

Speaking with Thenigerianpost, the Kogi State Police Commissioner, Ayuba Edeh, described the action by Pan African United Youths Development Network as criminal, said it is an invasion, assured that the Command will begin investigation into into the matter with the receipt of the petition from WACL.
