Dr. Tokunbo Alaga Olorundami a revolutionary candidate for the restoration of Standard in Ijumu Legislative duties

Popularly known as Alaga, Tokunbo is a breath of fresh air for Ijumu.
As we continue to treat our injury to control the bleeding from lack of government impact in Ijumuland, let’s not forget the saying : “as you lay your bed, so you will lay on it”.
With our hands we must ensure we positively change the destiny of all Ijumu Indigenes. Amongst the candidates in the race this time around, only one stands out in a class of his own.

Dr. Tokunbo Alaga Olorundami of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is youthful, energetic and a capacity builder with competencies in innovative policy making, environmental and development sustainability, and a Lean six Sigma black belt holder for process reengineering.

His PhD is from Newcastle University, PGC in Research at Newcastle University , Masters in GIS from University of Nottingham, Certification in Business Innovation from Saiid Business School – Oxford University, a Second Masters degree in Spatial Planning from the Univeristy of Dundee, while his first degree is from the prestigious Univeristy of Calabar, Nigeria.

He also holds a ND in Cartography from Kaduna polytechnic. He has lectured at the University of Calabar, Nigeria , Oxford Brookes University, Newcastle Univeristy in the UK, and Nottingaham University College.

He has been involved in so many community development initiatives in Okunland.
If you go to orphanages in Egbe, Alaga started sending them help since 2018.
Across Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu jamb forms have been delivered massively to help several students.

In Ekinrin-Adde where he hails from, Alaga is associated with every developmental project in the community. He is certainly well integrated with his homeland.
He is currently the President of Ekinrin-Adde Patriots; a development-based group that engages in one major developmental project every year in Ekinrin-Adde (such as : Repaired all boreholes in the community, tiled the townhall, renovation of school classrooms, among others).

He is the former Chairman Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association UK branch , and a former Master Ekinrin-Adde in his undergraduate days.

Alaga’s work experience spans through public and private sectors across Africa and Europe. He has worked as development management consultant to Dundee city council and St Andrew’s Trust, on wind farm development with the European offshore windfarm centre in Aberdeen.
His is a contributor to the Humansea project at the University of Nantes, France.

And he is running for Ijumu State Assembly. He deserves to be supported for the following reasons:

1. He is known for good and not evil, at home and abroad, and most importantly his community loves him and celebrates his contributions to the community.

2. He has a well rounded educational credential that cannot be matched by any other candidate.

3. The duty of legislation is very crucial to development and we need to ensure that a people-oriented person is elected. We must resist imposition and use of friendship as reward system in Ijumuland. As a people, we stand to suffer heavily if we gift away our major connections to governance on the basis of sentiments.

4. The unwritten rule of rotation favours Alaga, the current MHA is from Ijumu Oke, any candidate from Ijumu oke should respect the rules and the people of Ijumu oke should know that all political favours will be repaid in like form.

5. The international exposure and connections of Alaga will greatly do us some good, his plans for a WHO medical intervention for high blood pressure and diabetes in Ijumuland is just one example.

Finally let any candidate with a similar pedigree or credential bring thier records forward.

On these positive and credible grounds, we proudly endorse and recommend Dr Tokunbo Alaga Olorundami of the ADC to the good people of Ijumuland.

Thank you
Jolayemi Olalekan
Ijumu100.
