COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NYCN), KOGI EASTERN ZONE HELD ON THE 6TH OF FEBRUARY, 2021 AT IGALA UNITY HOUSE, ANYIGBA, KOGI STATE, NIGERIA.


Sequel to the strategic and all-important meeting of NYCN Stakeholders (which include, serving State executives, Local Government Coordinators and past officers of the council) from Kogi East under the chairmanship of Comrade Pete Ahmodu (the current zonal chairman of the council), the following resolutions were reached:
1. That His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja be applauded and appreciated for their unalloyed support to the council, thereby making it as a “primus inter pares” in Nigeria
2. That the zone strongly supports the presidential ambition of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello
3. That the zone congratulates all LG Coordinators of NYCN on their recent appointment into various offices in the LGA
4. That the unity of leadership of the council within the zone and the entire state is sacrosanct
5. That the tempo and impact of the council must be sustained and positively felt across the nine LGAs of the zone in particular and the state in general
6. That the Local Government Congress Planning Committee should immediately kick start the process for successful congress in line with the constitutional provision of the council
7. That the process of State Convention of NYCN should be commenced since the tenure of the present Executives end in May, 2021
8. That Kogi East is ever ready to step into the leadership of the council in the next dispensation in May, 2021 as constitutionally provided
9. That all youths from Kogi East should desist from any act capable of disrupting the peace and unity of the zone in particular and the state in general
10. That a compendium of achievements of NYCN across the nine LGAs be compiled for public presentation

11. The zone constituted NYCN State Consultative Committee for the forthcoming NYCN State convention with the following members:

i. Comrade Emmanuel Ojoduene…………….Chairman
ii. Comrade Pete Ahmodu……………………..Member
iii. Comrade Isah Muhammed Ogaji……………Member
iv. Comrade Alfa Ebune………………………..Member
v. Comrade Atabo Tijani………………………Member
vi. Comrade Josiah Achimugu…………………Member
vii. Comrade Asaka Danjuma Sheidu…………..Secretary
The terms of reference for the committee include:
a. To ensure smooth collation/screening of constitutionally qualified aspirants from the zone
b. To present qualified aspirants to the larger house for consideration
c. To undertake any other assignments given by the zone in the course of this very important exercise
